Cinema has long served as a powerful medium for artistic expression, entertainment, and cultural exchange. In India, films are not only a popular source of entertainment but also act as catalysts for the promotion of various allied sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, regional aesthetics, social awareness, economic activity, and skill development. The film industry plays a pivotal role in the socio-economic and cultural advancement of a region, with films often inspiring audiences to explore the locations showcased on screen, thereby generating new employment and economic opportunities at the local level.
 

In recognition of the transformative potential of cinema, the Government of Madhya Pradesh introduced the Madhya Pradesh Film Tourism Policy 2025  with a validity of five years. The policy aims to position Madhya Pradesh as a preferred destination for filmmakers by fostering a supportive and efficient ecosystem.
 

Under this policy, a dedicated Film Facilitation Cell (FFC) has been constituted within the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, serving as the nodal agency for all film-related matters in the state. The FFC facilitates single-window clearances for shooting permissions at government-owned locations, provides information on location fees, supports the development of film-related infrastructure, and coordinates talent development initiatives such as student training, professional workshops, incubation centres, and financial incentives.
 

Madhya Pradesh offers a compelling combination of strengths for the film industry, including a centrally located geography, low production costs, film-friendly weather, and a streamlined permission process. The state also possesses a growing pool of creative professionals, including actors, directors, producers, writers, and experienced line producers. Moreover, the government actively encourages the development of institutions offering training in fields such as acting, directing, screenwriting, animation, and cinematography.
 

In essence, the state views cinema as a multifaceted driver of employment, tourism, social engagement, and cultural preservation.
